Foxdie 3.6.3

Tuesday, July 27th, 2010 by John Locke Categories: Firefox, Themes Tags: , , 43 Responses

You know where to click to install ;-)

This update is not that big:
1. A little changes on tab bar for all the brush sub themes
2. Notification bar
3. For something of AMO

Just don’t forget these 3 ways to access the customization page:

  • a. Click on the Foxdie icon on the lower left corver of the status bar
  • b. Tools –> Foxdie for Firefox –> Customize
  • c. Bookmark chrome://foxdie/content/web/index.html

For me there is no difference between any of the button options except for square which adds a double line between the back/forward buttons.

Goldish background also appears when refreshing pages sometimes.

My URL bar looks weird and any way to make it transparent as it looks horrible on Win7.

One of the extensions you are using should never be enable when you are not using the theme which that extension is designed for… Please turn it off and please understand, it’s not foxdie’s problem, it’s that extension’s issue, its author should fix it, just don’t let it affect other themes, it’s always a nightmare to every theme developer ;-)

When we change the colors in Appearance, the whole browser should change color including the buttons and menu bar.
But when I choose Black, only the tab and bookmarks bar change to black, while the buttons and menu bar are still grey color, why?

    Hello
I’ve just updated the FAQs for you

    3. Why the “Black” isn’t a full dark theme?
    # A: I’ve redesigned this dark theme twice on Firefox 3.6.*, but it breaks the balance of this themes pack and burdens me more and more, if I keep the full dark one, it will turn to be a dead end for Foxdie 4 especially when I’m trying add Aero Glass and Tab on Top supports on version 4. So… I have to say that the half dark one is the only solution for now…

Hi. When I choose button shape square the forward button is square but the back button is round and they are merged together little bit like default theme in Firefox for Mac (http://www.anonymous-insider.net/advocacy/research/2009/images/firefox-mac.png)

Shouldn’t both be square like in Safari?

I have disabled all the extensions. FF version is 3.6.8. on Win XP.

Disabled all add-ons and I still get the problem. Also disabled the Bookmarks Toolbar and if I drag the areas around the back/forward/refresh/stop/home buttons; area very close to the awesome bar and the search box on the right, I get the same problem.

Same problems with another machine. :???:

Hi John, I love your theme and appreciate all your work like everyone else here. My problem is that I’m not being able to update Foxdie since 3.6.1. When I try to download the newer versions (3.6.2 or 3.6.3), first, it will pop up the message right below the toolbar saying that “Foirefox prevented this site from asking you to install software on you computer”, I click on “allow”, then it will pop up installation window (like any other extension), I click on “Install now” button, but then nothing will happen. Does anyone have any idea how to solve this problem? Should I uninstall Foxiedie 3.6.1, then reinstall newer version? Any comment is appreciated. Thanks.

There is a minimal difference between color “silver” and “snow”, minimal. Maybe add some kind of “milk” color, just an idea.

Keep up the good work, thx

I’ll remove the “Silver” later once I get something else to replace it, and “Milk” won’t be added, because there is gradient background on the button, the default one “Snow” is from #fff to #b7b7b7, here #fff=white, of course it’s whiter than milk=#f5f5f5, #b7b7b7 is darker than silver=#c0c0c0.

If there has to be a “Milk” option, then it must be flat, ugly flat… so… you can also treat the “Snow” as “Silver” and “Milk”.

Why don’t name it “Milk”, because some users will ask “Where is the Snow Leopard buttons?”, the “Snow” just has to be there and there is no brush texture for it
