Foxdie 3.6 Progress 3

Friday, March 19th, 2010 by John Locke Categories: Firefox, Gallery, Themes Tags: , , , 145 Responses

Below are some more previews of the Brush Styles, and a feature similar to Personas (allows you to put background images behind the browser – see here).

I cannot wait to release Foxdie 3.6! However, the old customization page cannot handle all of the new features that I have added. So I have asked 2 of my friends to help me with this part. How can I release Foxdie 3.6 without customization? :D

I am working very hard to get Foxdie 3.6 released by the end of this month. Thank you everyone for your patience!

    Hi Hayden,
There would be 4 properties for Layouts(this might need a better name): Solid colors, Textures, Background images, Styles. When you choose Solid colors, you will have what you want

Thanks so much for making this awesome theme and all the hard work!!

Allow users to choose background images from their computer is the 3rd step about this.
Step 1: I will put some images into the Foxdie suit, anyone can send me what they want. This is what you will have in 3.6
Step 2: I will try to build something like Personas, then people can upload their images to let people wear them like this.
Step 3: Allow users to choose images from their computer.
Step 2-3 need much more time

If I can’t release the version with customization this month, then I’ll upload beta 2 as you want

    Thanks David

The “Day/Date” is the hardest question for me.

I always receive many emails/messages asking “When….”, and I always answer them “It will be finished when it is finished”, this is the honest answer. But seems like people don’t like this answer much, so when I thought I can finish it this month or next month, I’ll tell them this month or next month.

We are working on it hours and hours every day recently, my partners told me they can absolutely finish their parts in Mar, and guess what… we had some fights this week, because they showed me their shit progress… Nobody know why they are so slow. I have no time for other things, by the way, I want to play GOD OF WAR 3 very very much, but I don’t know when I will have time for it.

I’ll release it once I get the new customize page finished, it can be anytime. :)

I mean I want this out yesterday before today, but all I can do is wait, and thank the creator for such awesome product. I am literally waiting for foxdie to come out before I update to firefox 3.6. Mozilla is not making it any easier with their new UPDATE NOW prompts.

Good job john on making the best (shiniest) theme for firefox.

… So if he said “I’ll release it soon”, I’m pretty sure you’ll just starting asking things like “When? Give us an idea.” …and well, look what happens with you throw out an estimate that isn’t made. People like you come on and trash talk the developer — who is giving you free stuff.

I will not shut up nor am I a prick. You’re the one crying over a theme for a freaking web browser. Grow up and get over it. The web browser works with/without the theme and is in no way interfering with your browsing needs. If you seriously act like a child over a free piece of software (much like infants throw temper tantrums), you have seriously gone off the deep end of sanity. Take your head out of your backside and attempt to come back to reality…in fact, you may want to turn your computer off for just a little while and take a step outside into the real world.

Also, learn to spell. I wouldn’t be surprised if you speak the same way you type.

Major leagues? Seriously? Do you people even listen to what you say/type or are you too far gone into some alternate dimension of pure 0’s and 1’s? It’s a theme for a web browser. He’s not mapping the genome project here

Chrome can only be themed on very few places and it can’t be customized like this way.
But Firefox 4 will be must faster than the currently 3.6
