First of all, I want to apologize for not replying to everyone’s questions and comments. I am focused on updating Foxdie for Firefox 3.6 and I do not have much spare time. Also, I have not been sleeping well lately.
I have released Foxdie 3.6 Beta 1. Click on the preview below to install, or go to the download page.
Please note that customization is disabled in this beta. A beta that includes customization will be uploaded later.
Note:
1. This beta in incompatible with the Glasser extension. I am not going to be able to fix it before Firefox 3.7 supports Aero Glass internally.
2. There are some glitches in the Linux version. I do not have Linux installed at the moment to test and fix it.
3. If you want the large back button, make sure you are using the large icons. You can do this by right clicking on the navigation toolbar, clicking on “Customize…”, and ensuring that the “Use small icons” option is unchecked.

Thanks for the update. In your 3.5.2 iteration of Foxdie the icons associated with bookmarked websites were removed from the bookmark toolbar, how would I go about removing the icons or will that feature be added to an updated version of the beta?

Hey guys I modified Foxdie 3.5.2 installer and I got it to work under Firefox 3.6.*
The best part is, all of the features that worked in Firefox 3.5 still work! Including subthemes!

I believe that sub themes have yet to be launched….Beta 1 is without them at present.
If you want another 3.6 theme option try Strata40 whilst we wait for Foxdie 3.6….

Thank you very much for the link you have provided. I have recently downloaded the file you provided and it works like a charm. While using Firefox I was incapable of downloading the file as I kept receiving an error message indicating that the maximum download allowance had been reached. Upon using Chrome, I was able to download the file and install it to Firefox 3.6 without incident.
John your themes are so popular that users create work-arounds to enable older editions of Foxdie to work on the newest iteration of Firefox, you should be flattered. Please keep up the good work.

Big fan of your Themes. I’ve recently updated to FF3.6 and can’t seem to find the customization tab like in the previous versions. I want my rhino and favicons back. Am I just not finding them? Or are they not active in the 3.6 beta 1? Keep up the good work.

Dear John, I hope that you can have the customization issue fixed soon, your theme is a real winner and it’s a crying shame that after being in the number two spot in theme popularity, has now slipped to the second page of the FF themes. Presently I was able to customized Foxdie by following rrm74001 suggestion(thank you) and downloading an installer from this site http://www.mediafire.com/file/zloxlhm5edd/foxdie_352.xpi; it works OK (is not perfect!), but a word of caution to anybody planing to use this installer, don’t over do it with the customization (enjoy in moderation), there is a chance you’ll screw up the Foxdie theme as well as a few others big time.

Hey, man. I just downloaded the Foxdie 3.6 beta, and i’ve got to say-it’s remarkable. It almost fools me into thinking it’s Safari.
I hope you keep it up. I have found one small graphical bug though: when i’m loading a page, there’s a little white space in the address bar at the top, where it’s supposed to be blue. Here’s a screenshot:

IMO 3.6 should have been released in Dec. rather than 3.5. It took you about 6-7 months to release 3.5 and by the time you released it everyone only had like a week or two left with FF3.5. No everyone is back in the same situation.

Since you are updating/modifying the current themes, I was wondering if I may toss in a suggestion for a theme? I realize that you have a lot on your plate at the moment and if this suggestion is too much to tackle, I will understand completely if it can’t be done.
My suggestion is adding a HUD theme and effect. There hasn’t been a HUD theme since FF 1.0 and it would be nice to see another one come to light.
Thanks again for Foxdie and I’m looking forward to the official release (I’m currently running the beta) – I will have to install the beta on my W7 machine too.

I zoomed it up to 500%. It is nothing but a light blue line. If it were to be a reflection of the gray border, it would be darker. If it were a glare line, it would be lower. So…what is it supposed to be? Why, John, do _you_ think it looks better?
Regarding Firefox 3.6, I just responded to Mozilla’s request to update and accepted. I now have Firefox 3.6, the installation of which told me it would turn off Foxdie 3.5.2. However, Foxdie 3.5.2 is still my browser skin (theme). Hurrah!

Loved Foxdie for FF 3.5 and I’m trying the Beta 1 version of 3.6. So far things look good. I did find one issue with the Add Bookmark dialog box. I’m on Win XP SP3 and when I try to add a bookmark the dialog box doesn’t go the whole way to the right. Do you want potential bugs listed here?

See this screen shot, the dark border works as a 3d-dark-line and that line works as a 3d-light-line, these 2 lines are a part of the urlbar and searchbar, it look better than the fission’s covering on the 3d-light-line as the 2nd screen shot

On the 3.6 beta the smart address bar highlights in blue, even if the system highlight color is different. Other themes use your systems highlight color. Could you make foxdie either have options for the color or have it use the same color as the system? Thanks.

This is what I was going to ask. It used to work with version 3.1.9.4. – PLEASE make it happen. Or let us have a FULL GREY option whereas everything (including the Windows bar at the top that has the minimize, maximize, close buttons) appears in the same color (just as in your images which usually appear to be in one color!?).
