Some people ask me how to get these red, yellow and green traffic lights as the first screen shot below on Windows.
Actually I’ve explained that in FAQs, but now I think I should add a new post with some images explaining that more clearer.
7. Q: I’m on Windows, how can I get the Mac’s title bar with the red, yellow and green traffic lights?
A:That’s not controlled by Firefox and Thunderbird but your 3rd party Windows OS theme like Visual Style or WindowBlinds.
You can always find more at deviantART, for instant, here is a link showing you how to get some similar AMAZING stuffs
Linux users can use Mac4Lin on Gnome. It really looks like a real-mac
(Thanks, Cicero)
The 1st screen shot is in Mac, the 2nd one is in Windows with Zune theme, to get the same Mac’s title bar with these traffic lights, you can use a Mac style VS/Windowblinds theme on Windows, Linux users can use Mac4Lin on Gnome.
If you don’t want to change your OS theme, try Hide Caption or Hide Caption Title, then you can also get what the 3rd screen shot has. But if you get 6 traffic lights with this way, do the following
1. type about:config in Location bar, enter.
2. search extensions.hide_caption.show_nav_close_btn in the Filter, set its value to false by double clicking on it.
NOTE: Hide Caption and Hide Caption Title might cause bugs to Foxdie, I’m not sure and I’m not using it.
Cheers

Hey John, first of all, thanks for this great theme, I love it! I’m using your 3rd option with Hide Caption on windows vista, but only the last (red) button looks like your picture. The others look like normal windows old buttons (the ‘minimize’ is a line and the ‘restore’ are two squares). Am I doing something wrong?

You are welcome Paulo
Because Hide Caption changed some codes after I made those traffic lights for it last time, and I didn’t notice its change until last night when I took this screen shot, so I’ve just fixed it again 20 hours ago, and I’ll send you a version with that fixed later, by email

Nice job you’ve done with firefox (font, icons, etc), think it’s the best theme.
Looking forward to foxdie 3.5

Hi Lisa

I’ve uploaded the fixed version 4 days ago, http://www.foxdie.us/download/
have you reinstalled it during these 4 days?

Awesome! Thanks for the quick fix!
(Quote)
John, I installed the latest version just before messaging you.

I too installed the latest version. I used ‘hide caption title’ and the traffic lights look fine, but it shows 6 lights instead of the 3. If you could email me a fixed version, I would greatly appreciate it.
Thank you

Hi, John! Can you tell me why my min/max/close buttons aren’t in the top right corner? Here’s a snapshot: http://i29.tinypic.com/b989d3.jpg
Is it because of the adblock?

Hello Patrick
you can simply open the customize window, then drag it to the right side
btw, there is an important bug with version 3191 and Hide caption, I will send you a fixed version if I know your email address

Hi,
the buttons are on the right side, but there is no colour, only grey – not so impressing. But everything else seems to work well and looks great.
I’m using Firefox with Vista.

FF 3.6 doesn’t have @extensions.hide_caption.show_nav_close_btn@ option. How can I hide traffic lights without this?- Also, foxdie 3.6 doesn’t have personal traffic lights buttons for it.

Thanks a lot!
Also, please fix this button too: http://img6.imageshack.us/img6/615/capturena.png
It’s @Hide Caption@ menu button. Before traffic lights fix, it looks much better
