Okay everyone
Foxdie 3.1.9.0 for Firefox 3.5 is available now!!! go check http://foxdie.us/download
Instruction:
- 3.1.9 was upgraded from 3.1.0, and it was originally designed for Firefox 3.0, due to your waiting for the final Foxdie 3.5 theme which I haven’t finished, I fixed 5 bugs of 3.1.0 to make it compatible with Firefox 3.5, but there are still many bugs in 3.1.9.
- 3.1.9 includes 1 extension and 2 themes(Blue and Graphtie), what is this extension for?
It is the ONLY switcher to Foxdie Blue and Foxdie Graphite, also, I will put some sub themes into it later, then you can easily apply any sub theme dynamically, yes, you don’t need to paste those codes and restart your Firefox anymore. In case anyone want to get a quick access to restart Firefox for some other reasons, just shoot ‘Restart’
Let’s see how to use it, as the screen shot below…
2 ways:
- Tools—->Foxdie for Firefox
- Or click on the fox icon at the left of status bar to show that popup menu.
BTW, Foxdie 3.5 is perfect in every detail and will be finished soon…

Oh YEAH!

(Quote)

Thx a lot
(Quote)
Can we still import some code (http://www.foxdie.us/faqs/) as in foxdie 3.1.0 in the userChrome.css ?
Cause it doesn’t seem to work on my FF.
(Quote)
Thank you so much!
(Quote)
I was waiting this theme till 1st July. I even didn’t upgrade my Firefox. Thank you so much John. Waiting for Foxdie 3.5.
(Quote)
in next version…
(Quote)
I will put subthems in that extension in next version, so you don’t need to paste those codes anymore…
(Quote)
Yea I know
. I was just wondering if, for this version, we could still import code to modify the theme.
(Quote)
those sub themes files have been removed from 3.1.9 for now, that’s why importing doesn’t work at all
(Quote)
Thank you for your hard werk
superb!:))) <3

I have to use 3.1 on my FF3.5, although that causes some bugs… …
(Quote)
John, I notice that the Foxdie 3.1.9.0 theme is only available here at your website. The theme is not available at the official AOM site.
Will the Foxdie 3.5 theme be available at the AOM site? Or just here?
(Quote)
Just to clarify. The AOM site is the https://addons.mozilla.org/ site, commonly abbreviated to AOM (for Add-ons Mozilla).
(Quote)
Hi Peter
That’s AMO, for some reasons, I will upload version 3.5 only here, and not sure if I will upload 3.1.9 there right now…
(Quote)
Thanks for the reply, John! I will be sure to check back often to see whether you have released Foxdie 3.5!!
(Quote)
luv it <3
(Quote)
I’m waiting for 2 months and finally reached
Thanks
(Quote)

(Quote)
umm what’s the differecne betwwen blue and graphite??? :0

(Quote)
Thanks Joe
This is not 3.5, 3.5 need some more time, maybe next month
The differences between Blue and Graphite are button, checkbox, radio, menulist, textbx, scrollbar, highlight color…
(Quote)
Great! Thanks for your hard work, I can’t imagine my FF without this theme!!!
(Quote)
This version causing a problems on Linux firefox v. 3.5.2. Firefox start blink and no one of the menu are showing and can be used.
(Quote)
Thanks! Great job!
(Quote)
awesome. like the new site too!
(Quote)
Same here on Linux with both FF3.5.2 and Shiretoko.
Almost complete graphical corruption or non-display of any window, menu, dialogue etc….
Totally unusable.
Version 3.1.0 continues to work just fine though, if compatibility with latest FF is forced.
(Quote)
Can you give us an estimate when the version with sub themes will be available?
(Quote)
GREAT JOB!!! VERY MUCH APPRECIATED!!
(Quote)
Nothing like an update here! I can’t find anything common with the promoted look. The current release is so weak, I’m sorry for downloading it. And don’t bother me any more, please. Sorry.
(Quote)
Thanks John, great to be back to normal, and looking forward to the 3.5. You are a great artist – Bob
(Quote)
Hi
Sorry I didn’t test it on Linux before, but I’m solving that right now
(Quote)
I will put some sub themes into it later, then you can easily apply any sub theme dynamically, yes, you don’t need to paste those codes and restart your Firefox anymore.
In next version…
(Quote)
Because this is version 3.1.9 not 3.5 which I will release later
(Quote)
Hi Bob
Sorry for this late response, I was writing an tutorial about what you asked in mail, and I had to fix something in the theme to finish that tutorial, because that tutorial includes an extension you might be interested in
here http://www.foxdie.us/2009/08/07/how-to-get-red-yellow-and-green-traffic-lights/
(Quote)
fail… no offense but u better releasin it quick, cuz now im using vfox3 n im pretty satisfied lol….
(Quote)
i’ve got a suggestion: could you please exchange the gfx in the top right corner for the search engines? At the moment there’s just a loupe but sort of favicons would be way more handy to have! At the moment I mix it up everytime again because I dont know which one I actually use atm. thx!
(Quote)
Thanks
Like I said, in next version…
(Quote)
Is there any way to remove the icon in the status bar?
http://i28.tinypic.com/23r97gx.png
There is really no reason for it to be there.
P.S. I think you will find my theme collection interesting:
http://i31.tinypic.com/5zp45f.png
(Quote)
Hi, that icon can be used to apply sub themes dynamically in next version
but If you want to hide it, put this into your userChrome.css
You can see there is an Apple icon in my screen shots(I think it’s not the right moment for me to add this into the themes right now), If you want the same icon, use the folowing, but you need to put this image
into your userChrome folder
(Quote)
Juchheissa!!!!! Great, thanks John,
lena :=)
(Quote)
SUPERB !!!! I’m waiting this since June 2009…
(Quote)
I’m lovin’ it, ‘ve been soooo looking forward to it!
(Quote)
as a consequence of you for your report and it helped me in preparing my college assignment.

I think that maybe the linux version’s not working right. i had 3.1 working fine on my opensuse 11.1, but when i went to upgrade it installed just fine, but doesn’t run. MOst of the UI is blank.
I went as far as hosing my .mozilla path, but no luck. After reinstalling the same issue.
(Quote)
Thank you very much for this, i like Safari skin especially when i can use it with firefox. Great job, all the best
(Quote)
…I will put some sub themes into it later, then you can easily apply any sub theme dynamically…
Means that 3.1.9.0 can´t be customized ? or it is me that forget how to get sub-themes via userChrome.css?
J.
(Quote)
every update that isn’t compatible with 3.5, since the release of FF3.5, is a fail.
come on already! it can’t be that hard.
(Quote)
Ah thx for this trick!
(Quote)
Oh Yeah,Thanks Again!
(Quote)
How do I change the font? Really blurry and fuzzy….
(Quote)
As far as im concerned Foxdie is best osx style browser. Most just are badly thought out and not seen all the way through which is a shame and are poorly designed. This theme however gets better all the time! Keep up the good work;)
Been waiting for 3.5 updates for this for sometime now.. how sad am i lol
(Quote)
Thanks alot! Only thing is I can’t move from tab to tab. If I click on it it just doesn’t go to another tab. I used the default one and no problem there… Maybe it’s jus me though?
(Quote)
Thanks for share! GREAT!
(Quote)
Me again, no problem now. I think it was just that one time.
Thanks alot for this great skin!
(Quote)
Everything looks great except the address bar when viewing secure connections e.g. Google’s “My Account” page looks a little awkward. Thanks for the update, it is a beautiful theme.
(Quote)
Can We use sub-themes? writing info on userchrome.css like previous versions? ’cause one of my favorites is “favicon only”, with a other few modificatoins on icons, but now i can’t….
(Quote)
Sorry, John Locke, but FF 3.5.2. and Foxdie 3.1.9.0 via chrome config is no no, unfortunatelly…
Does anybody knows the easiest way how to donwgrade FF to 3.0.xx version in order to use Foxdie again?
Thanks.

Type your comment here Tapez votre commentaire iciHello, want excuse me by advance for my English I am French;). I have firefox 3.5.2 and I have to install Foxdie only problem when I go in “outils=>Foxdie For Firefox” I have the two topics but not the remainder (personalisable) to change bars etc here if you have an idea thank you in advance:)
(Quote)
@Joris
(Quote)
Hi Joris ^_^
Check this http://www.foxdie.us/2009/08/20/get-foxdie-3-1-9-1-here/
See? “Get Foxdie 3.1.9.1 here”
Wait, 404 error Page not found?
Yes, because I set it to private…
I was supposed to upload version 3.1.9.1 3 days ago, but after I successfully uploaded the preview http://foxdie.us/temp/319.png , I got fail on uploading other files, so I decided to add some more things and delay it for 3 days
I removed those userChrome hacking codes from my site yesterday, because you can easily change style like this screenshot later
I will upload it tomorrow and set that link public

Does not work very well with Tab kit or addons that have a tab coloring feature.

(Quote)
hi John, about the last comment — is there a way for your theme to check for updates via the Firefox menu?
I’m using 3190 too, and it shows no updates available via the FF menu, however I know that you’ve just realised 3191?
(Quote)
I’m considering that and will do it soon

Fabulously just posting this remark to show that I on your blog daily.
